About 33 Bay Street — 33 Bay at Pinnacle
The 33 Bay condos at the Pinnacle Centre are the pinnacle of modern luxury — pun intended. Boasting an enviable location as well as an excellent building filled with exquisite amenities, there’s no doubt the condos at 33 Bay Street are among the most desirable buildings in the Waterfront neighbourhood.
Completed in 2011, the 52-storey building was, unsurprisingly, developed by the prestigious Pinnacle International. The architecture was designed by Page + Steele / IBI Group, who created a charming contemporary aesthetic. While “charm” and “contemporary” don’t often come hand in hand, 33 Bay’s distinctive blue tinted-glass exterior, framed by bright white concrete, creates a graceful and inviting glow.
Prospective homeowners aren’t typically drawn to the building for the individual Waterfront condos for sale alone, but rather since a home in the building comes with access to the Pinnacle Club. Spread over 30,000 square feet, this amenities centre is accessible to all residents of the Pinnacle Centre. It contains state-of-the-art fitness facilities, an indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool, a billiards room, a meeting room, a spacious party room, a serene lounge, guest suites, and even a cinema.
The Pinnacle Club even connects to an expansive common terrace, where there’s a golf centre, tennis courts, a running track, and barbecue-equipped dining areas. However, only residents can make use of the building’s welcoming lobby and 24-hour concierge service.
The Suites
Even with such a large quantity of suites — 634 Toronto condos to be precise — each one is refined and luxurious to the core. Tanner Hill and Associates is to thank for this stylish atmosphere, as the firm appointed them with tasteful modern fixtures and finishes. In particular, the suites’ kitchens are quite attractive: they feature designer cabinetry, granite or marble countertops, and top-of-the-line appliances including a self-cleaning slide-in range and a frost-free refrigerator.
While Tanner Hall and Associates’ job wasn’t easy, the natural light coming in through the floor-to-ceiling windows would have made nearly any interior design decision look brilliant. This light also happens to flow well throughout the open-concept floor plans, making every suite feel warm and comfortable.
Ranging in size from approximately 500 to 1,000 square feet, the floor plans consist of studios, one- and two-bedroom suites, some of which contain dens as well. Most of these living spaces also extend onto private balconies, offering their owners captivating views of the city and Lake Ontario.
The Neighbourhood
Residents in the building have some enviable neighbours — the Toronto Raptors and Maple Leafs both play just a short walk north of 33 Bay Street in the Scotiabank Arena. This popular venue also frequently hosts many beloved musicians. And beside Scotiabank Arena is Maple Leaf Square — also known as Jurassic Park to Raptors fans — which contains many familiar restaurants as well as a convenient Loblaws and an LCBO.
Although it might be rare to actually bump shoulders with Toronto’s star athletes while running errands in the neighbourhood, residents may have a better chance at spotting a celebrity at the Harbour Sixty Steakhouse, a short walk west of the building. This also happens to be one of the longest running, and — more importantly — delicious fine dining experiences in the city, and the place to go when residents want to indulge. Not only does Harbour Sixty serve classic dishes of the finest quality, but its fare is complemented by a top-notch wine collection.
Transportation
Having a major attraction like the Scotiabank Arena in the neighbourhood has its perks, one of them being that public transportation is aplenty. As a result, those living at 33 Bay at Pinnacle have options as to how to get around: they’re just down the street from Union Station, where one can reach the TTC, GO Transit, Via Rail and the UP Express service to Pearson International Airport.
Last but not least, residents who drive enjoy living so close to a major highway. Drivers only need to follow Lakeshore Boulevard to Lower Jarvis Street in order to reach on-ramps for the Gardiner Expressway.
